"Khushir Jhuli"   

- Is there only an NGO? Why would you stay with Khushir Jhuli? Please know our thoughts, actions and future plans. 

KHUSHIR JHULI had started the journey in 2019 at “Mohaloya” before Durga Puja in the Railway Platform at Budge Budge Station as to donate free clothes and dresses to poor homeless people and we watch those street children in platform who were begging every day. After a while we think to start a free school for those children. We think provide Education to the illiterates is better than other help.

We want to focus on this slum dwelling area because there are a large number of uneducated poor people and a vigorous child labor problem. A section of children are compelled either to begin railway stations due to utmost poverty, to work in tea stalls/garage or the girls work as maid servants in nearby houses. Local government school teachers opine that this state of poverty is the main cause is School -leaving. Thereafter, illiteracy, child labor, illegal human trafficking and anti-social activities pervade in the local areas.      

We would like to state that now we are running a free coaching school for the economically weaker and distressed children of our locality where light of education has not yet focused, near Budge Budge Railway Colony, with a view to bring them in the main stream of life by providing all educational equipments; like books, exercise books, pen, pencil, eraser, school bag, clothes including cardigan for winter. There are 120 regular students. Along with formal education we have arranged Computer Coaching, Spoken English Class as well as various cultural classes like recitation, dance, drama, drawing etc.

We also apprise you that every start of New Year a "Sit & Draw Competition" at Budge Budge Railway Colony ground when more than 500 children assemble there.

 

Every year, in winter, we distribute rag to the footpath dwellers from Achhipur to Bata More.

We distribute new garments to the distressed people of our locality on the eve of Bengali New Year & Durga Puja.

We provide the new textbooks to more than 50 needy students and we admit them in schools and colleges. We give them total college admission fees every year.  

We also celebrate various auspicious days like Netaji Jayanti, Republic Day, Vasha Dibas, Rabindra & Najrul Jayanti, Independence Day etc.

We also publish a half-yearly literary juvenile magazine namely “KHUSHIR HAWOA” over 5000 copies. Writings of our students also get a place there. Most renowned writers in this time gave their creation for our Magazine and it is getting very popular nowadays.   

We may specially mention here that during the Corona epidemic in 2020 & 2021, we supplied cooked food packets to the beggars, vagabonds and distressed people of our locality. We also supplied oxygen cylinders even at dead night to the patients. Still now our young members donate blood during crying needs.

"Khushi Jhuli" is not just a voluntary organization, it is a socialist, culturally minded, apolitical, secular, social organization that is moving forward with the blessings of the people.
